Upper Haddo Stud is currently in the process of being built. It is situated a mile from the village of Laurencekirk just off the main A90 motorway. The stud is about 30 miles from Aberdeen and about 35 miles from Dundee.
When the stud is finished it will consist of an American barn with around 15 stables, wash box, tack room, feed room and foaling boxes as well. There are several paddocks spread out over 25 acres and stallion paddocks as well. The outdoor all weather arena will be 50m x 50m and we plan to add a lunging pen and a horse walker as well.
Not only will Upper Haddo Stud be a superb breeding facilty and be setup to cater for mares and foals , it will be used to produce sports horses to all levels with emphasis on showjumping. We will import the best youngsters from Holland and Germany as well produce our own home bred youngstock which should be of an equally high quality in both bloodlines, conformation, movement and ability. We will use the best mares available to us with world class pedigree’s and stallions who are renowned worldwide as Olympic competitors and World Cup performers. Particularly stallions from De Wiemselbach, Paul Schokomole, Zangersheide and Nihoff. We seek to breed the best horses for sport that can be bred to ensure a good level of performance can be reached. |
